Deadline: 31-May-21
The Ontario Wildlife Foundation (OWF) is inviting applications for its 2021 grant program. The Foundation mission is to raise funds and awareness for the conservation and enhancement of Ontario’s natural resources through research and restoration.
The Foundation strength comes from partnering with other groups on conservation projects and promoting conservation education.
The Ontario Wildlife Foundation wants to provide opportunities to educate the public and to participate through hands-on projects to ensure our natural resources are there in the future for all to cherish and enjoy.
Objectives
- To conserve and enhance natural habitats
- To promote, cooperate and participate in conservation education
- To encourage the enjoyment of healthful outdoor recreation.
- To promote and support scientific research and general investigation of birds, fish, animals and their habitats.
- To allow for abundant stocks of healthy birds, fish and animals so they can be readily available for the use and enjoyment of all people.
- To cooperate with other organizations or individuals in conservation.
Conditions
- Applicants’ project coordinator must submit a final report to the OWF including details of the project, an outline of how the OWF funds were used and the benefit(s) to the community. If the project runs into the following year an interim report may be requested by the OWF. The deadline for these reports will be outlined in applicants funding approval letter.
- Electronic copies of the OWF logo will be provided for use in signage or other materials dealing promoting the project.
Restrictions
- The OWF will not support projects where the net benefit will not be realized by the local, regional, or provincial community (e.g. enhancement of privately owned property).
- The OWF will not provide funds for travel expense to conferences/seminars, for legal actions, land acquisitions or staffing/salaries.
