Deadline: 02-Apr-21
Applications are now open for the Teach for Romania to contribute to the transformation of society by getting involved in education, starting with the transformation in the classroom, school and community, who seek meaning in their work, have lived or seen inequity and want to contribute to reducing or eliminating it, which I still think is possible, where many do not see a chance of success.
The continuous training and support of the participants during the 2 years aims to develop the necessary skills to be able to support learning in schools facing challenges and to become leaders capable of systemic changes in education.
The impact in the first year is in the classroom, in the 2nd year in school and in the community, and then systemically, through their contribution to the vision of the organization in the role of alumni.
Their training and support program has a visible impact, generating progress assumed both at the level of participants and students, the directions of change being: illiteracy (including functional), school dropout , improving socio-emotional skills .
You can be an educator, teacher or professor in our program, regardless of specialization, graduate studies and psycho-pedagogical mode, these are not eliminatory selection criteria. You will also teach in preschool, primary or secondary education, depending on the needs of the schools in the communities we work with, as well as your preferences and availability to integrate into the system.
The training of teachers supported by the Teach for Romania program is done through methods such as training, mentoring, coaching, peer learning (community of practice and learning) and their continuous support, through a team of mentors-mentors . Each participant is assigned a tutor during the 2 years, who helps him to plan, implement and improve the teaching activities in the classroom, through regular class attendance and constant feedback.
Moreover, there are those who:
- They understand and are aligned with the vision and values of the organization.
- They are persevering, easily adapt to changes / unforeseen situations and can work in environments with a high degree of uncertainty.
- They have the potential for leadership and the ability to inspire those around them.
- They are open to getting to know each other better and have the potential to overcome them.
- They have critical thinking, strategic planning and problem solving skills.
- They have the ability to communicate effectively in different situations, are open, empathetic and have a high degree of tolerance.
Therefore, in order to benefit from this support, as described above, the participant undertakes:
- be present at training events and activities that take place over the weekend, during the two years of the program;
- take into account all specific tools, methods and planning, in order to develop basic skills, behaviors and attitudes in students;
- to respond to the real needs of the child through involvement in the classroom, in school and in the community;
- to measure the impact of its work (through various monitoring and evaluations) and to communicate this to the various actors that
- support the program and to the partners of the organization.
