The CyberSafe Foundation is currently seeking applications for the CyberGirls Fellowship to combat negative vices by empowering girls in underserved communities in Nigeria with globally sought-after cybersecurity skills.
The objective of this program is to improve the socio-economic well-being of girls in Nigeria by providing skills through intensive training, mentorship and internship/job placement opportunities that will lift them from poverty.
Learning Path
The learning journey has been designed, to begin with, digital literacy and systematic progress from basic cybersecurity concepts to more specialized niche cybersecurity learning. Midway through the fellowship, beneficiaries will choose and focus on one of the following tracks/career paths.
- Networking;
- IT Security Audit;
- Incident Analysis/Response;
- Penetration and Vulnerability Testing;
- Security Intelligence;
- Web Application Testing;
- Cloud Security.
Become an Internship/Job Placement Partner
- This Fellowship will produce a crop of very hungry but knowledgeable budding female cybersecurity enthusiasts, who’ll need to get their hands dirty to hone their newly acquired skills in the above given learning paths.
- This hunger and drive to learn will deliver immense benefits to any employer lucky enough to have them.
- Be one of the first employers to hire these fresh talents who will become available to work physically or remotely anywhere in the world from, January 2022.
How the Foundation Intend to Achieve It
- By empowering girls in underserved communities with globally sought-after cybersecurity skills through the fellowship program; positioning them to start a career in cybersecurity and seize work opportunities within Nigeria and across the world.
- This Fellowship will produce a crop of very hungry but knowledgeable budding female cybersecurity enthusiasts, who’ll need to get their hands dirty to hone their newly acquired skills in the following niche areas: Networking, IT Security Audit, Incident Analysis/Response, Penetration, and Vulnerability Testing, Security Intelligence and Web Application Testing.
Eligibility Criteria
- Girls aged 15 – 21 years old;
- Girls with an interest in tech;
- Girls who are willing to commit 7 months to the fellowship;
- Girls out of Secondary school but yet to begin Tertiary Education;
- Girls resident in Adamawa, Cross River, Enugu, Kaduna, Kogi, or Oyo State.
