UNDP is pleased to announce applications for Partnership with Civil Society for the Implementation of an Awareness Campaign on COVID-19.
The COVID-19 pandemic, declared by the World Health Organization (WHO) as an emergency of international public health (USPI) on January 30, 2020, and qualified as a pandemic since mid-March 2020, has created a serious global health crisis, with unprecedented repercussions on privacy (restrictions on freedom of movement), social organization (radical measures of confinement and social distancing), and the productive and industrial capacity of all countries around the world, including Algeria.
Objectives
- The overall objective of these specifications is to frame the Project’s support to civil society in the implementation of awareness-raising and communication activities on Covid 19 among populations targets.
- It will also be used to define the duration of the action; the type of activities; the nature of the endowments; priority targets; the areas of intervention and the key messages to be applied through the various communication / awareness channels as well as the administrative and financial procedures.
Priority Targets
- This call is addressed to associations identified by the Ministry of Health, Population and of the Hospital Reform as an activator in accordance with the regulations, with members, resources and experience in the field to conduct awareness campaigns among their target populations. Associations whose proposed actions are selected as eligible for a grant will be contractually linked with UNDP through a funding agreement that will fix their obligations.
- Partner associations are expected to:
- present their association or, where applicable, partner associations and / or institutions or local authorities with which it intends to implement the planned awareness-raising activities in the action plan;
- present the activities to be implemented in a detailed action plan
- Describe the approach adopted and the actions to be taken;
- Give an overall financial estimate for the implementation of activities, detail the budget dedicated to each of them and their duration.
Funding Information
- The duration of the project must be 05 months.
Key Messages
The key messages of the campaign are:
- Physical distancing: showing how and why physical distancing is a means of prevention;
- Wearing a mask: how wearing the mask “correctly” protects by preventing the virus from passing through the respiratory tract;
- Regular hand washing with water and liquid soap and / or rubbing with hydroalcoholic gel:
- When and how to wash your hands;
Avoid family and friends gatherings (weddings, birthdays, funeral ceremonies, etc.); - Identify the risks and transmission factors and respect health protocols in public spaces such as stores, schools, mosques, etc. And how to avoid them. Adapt the speech so that it is audible according to the audience (children, young people, adults);
- Fight against denial of the disease (caused by the feeling of shame induced by the disease)
- Vaccination: show the benefits of vaccination in the fight against communicable diseases and
highlight the collective and individual benefit.
Eligibility Criteria
- This call is open to associations activating across the national territory. Partnerships can be envisaged by associations carrying out the action with other partners or networks associations in order to ensure broad coverage of the target populations. Associations must meet the conditions below:
- Be Approved under Law 12-06 (or brought into conformity);
- Be an active association in one of the fields related to the theme of awareness raising or health, or an associated field;
- Be directly responsible for the preparation, development and management of the campaign. Awareness raising and not acting as an intermediary;
- Demonstrate sufficient operational and management capacities to manage a project, especially a awareness campaign on health issues;
- Have no legal problem, no illegal activity and not be in cessation of activity;
- Strong mobilization capacities of members and volunteers to carry out the activities.
- Implementing Partners- The implementing partner participates in the definition and implementation of the activities of the campaign, and the costs it incurs necessary for their implementation and duly justified, are eligible. The partner can be:
- An Algerian municipal, wilayal or national association (in accordance with Law 12-06)
- A local authority
- An economic operator, public or private;
- A professional association or professional organization;
- An educational institution, vocational training, a university
