The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), National Institute of Justice (NIJ), is seeking proposals for funding from accredited research universities to carry out a single research project on reducing trauma for child pornography victims program that will produce a report with concrete recommendations for improving and synchronizing law enforcement best practices for ensuring child victims’ well-being during and after the investigation into the crime.
With this solicitation, NIJ requests proposals from accredited research universities for rigorous scientific research to identify best practices to reduce the trauma of children affected by child pornography investigations.
The primary goal of this solicitation is to identify law enforcement best practices to reduce the trauma of children affected by CSEM investigations.
Objectives
The objectives of this solicitation are to:
- Carry out rigorous scientific research to answer critical questions needed to identify the steps law enforcement should take to improve outcomes for child victims; and
- Produce products to disseminate findings and recommendations related to those steps directly to policy makers, law enforcement and other relevant practitioners.

Eligibility Criteria
Eligible Applicants: Private institutions of higher education, Public and State controlled institutions of higher education, Other
- Other Foreign colleges and universities are not eligible to apply.
- All recipients and subrecipients (including any for-profit organization) must forgo any profit or management fee.
- NIJ will consider applications under which two or more entities would carry out the federal award; however, only one entity may be the applicant.
