Applications are now open for Tourism Australia’s Business Events Boost Program. The program provides funding and expertise to industry-led marketing and distribution projects which help restart business events in Australia, to support industry recovery from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
The Business Events Boost Program offers the opportunity to partner with Tourism Australia and leverage marketing and distribution expertise to deliver initiatives and activity that promote and rebuild national business events.
Trade and Investment Priority Areas
The Australian Government’s trade and investment facilitation strategies are focused around the following priority sectors. Business events, where applicable, that align with these trade priority sectors will be highly considered during assessment of applications for the Business Events Boost Program.
- Food and Agribusiness
- Advanced Manufacturing
- Infrastructure
- Resources and Energy
- Health
- Services & Disruptive Technologies
Funding Information
- Have a minimum funding request of AUD$10,000
- All activity takes place in the 2021/22 financial year with all projects completed by 30 June 2022
What kind of projects are Tourism Australia looking to support?
Projects the Business Events Boost Program may support include:
- Marketing assets for domestic bidding and conversion of new events
- Content and collateral creation including video, still photography, virtual reality initiatives and podcasts
- Digital marketing activity including social media
- Communication activity including direct mail and microsites
- Public relations activity and media buy
- Bespoke and innovative marketing campaigns with amplification strategies
This list is not exhaustive. Tourism Australia is keen to support ambitious and innovative ideas, which inspire future event activity and help to re-build domestic business events so applicants are encouraged to apply with any ideas that support this objective.
Supported Activity
The Business Events Boost Program will support activity including:
- Content creation and collateral including video and still photography
- Marketing assets for domestic bidding and for the conversion of new national events
- Unique and strategic delegate boosting initiatives
- Digital marketing activity including social media or website enhancements
- Communication activity such as direct mail, microsites, public relations activity or editorial coverage
- Media buy and marketing campaigns with amplification strategies
- Virtual reality and online site inspections
- Podcasts and audio interview series
- Qualified distribution and business development activity
Eligibility Criteria
- The Program is open to applicants who have at least 12 months demonstrated business events experience in corporate incentives, corporate meetings, exhibitions or association meetings. The Program is not designed to support individuals who are looking to enter the business events market.
