The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria through the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Republic of Albania announces a procedure for acceptance and selection of project proposals that will be implemented with grants within the official development assistance of the Republic of Bulgaria.
Purpose
- Strengthening the rule of law;
- Environmental protection and sustainable management of natural resources;
- Building administrative capacity for local self-government and supporting democratic reforms;
- Protection of human rights and respect for the rights of minorities;
- Improving the quality of education and improving school infrastructure.
Priority Areas
The priority areas and directions for implementation of projects on the territory of the Republic of Albania are:
- Protection and guarantee of human rights with special attention to children, people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups, as well as the rights of national minorities as a key element for the development of a modern society;
- Sustainable management of natural resources, nature protection and mitigation of the effects of climate change;
- Support for providing universal health coverage and access to quality health services
- Providing inclusive and quality education and improving school infrastructure
Funding Information
- The minimum allowable value of a project is BGN 5,000 .
- The candidate co-financing of project activities will be considered an asset in assessing it , selection and and approving this project .
Expected results
- Improving the socio-economic development and good governance in the Republic of Albania;
- Increasing the rule of law and democratization of institutions;
- Supporting environmental protection efforts;
- Poverty reduction;
- Deepening the interaction between the institutions at central, regional and local level;
- Protection of human rights and multicultural dialogue;
- Establishing the good name and international authority of the Republic of Bulgaria.

Eligibility Criteria
- Primary and secondary budget managers – legal entities of the Republic of Albania;
- International and local non- governmental organizations;
- Municipalities and their associations;
- Educational, health and social institutions ;
- Mezhdun Arod humanitarian organizations ;
- Other (depending on country-specific).
