The Dorset Community Foundation is pleased to launch its second funding programme in partnership with Wessex Water that aims to support charitable and community activities which improve the local environment and have a positive impact on the quality of life for the local area.
Priorities
Environmental priorities for this fund are:
- Conservation of water use
- Reduction of single use plastic
- Reducing waste
- Improvements in local biodiversity
Funding Information
- You can apply for up to £1,500.
Outcomes
Applications must demonstrate one of more of the following outcomes:
- Involves communities in environmental activities that benefit the local area
- Has a positive impact on the local environment
- Shares learning about the local environment with others
Eligibility Criteria
- The Fund is for registered charities, constituted voluntary and community groups, social enterprises (not-forprofit companies limited by guarantee) or Community Interest Companies with charitable aims and annual expenditure of less than £500,000.
- Schools and parish councils may also apply as long as they can demonstrate community benefit. Funding is limited to local organisations – applicants must be based and working in Dorset.
What they cannot fund?
- Applications from individuals
- National organisations (independent branches can apply)
- General appeals
- Activities which are a statutory responsibility
- Political groups, campaigning and or activities promoting religious beliefs
- Animal welfare
- Arts or sports projects with no significant community or charitable element
- One off events with no significant community or charitable element
- Medical research, equipment or treatment
- Projects that take place before a grant can be awarded
- Activities that raise funds for other organisations
