The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is seeking applications for its Inclusion Grants Funding to help them create more accessible and inclusive facilities and events.
Initiatives under the Inclusion Grants Funding Program have included renovation projects, such as installation of ramps, automatic doors or visual alarms or disability-related accommodations for events and meetings, such as sign language interpretation or captioning.
Objective: To enhance the inclusion of persons with disabilities and to enable greater participation in community opportunities through the removal of barriers.
Funding Information
Grants are available as follows:
- Accessibility Grants: Up to a maximum of $25,000
- Disability-Related Accommodations Grants: Up to maximum of $5,000
What activities can be funded?
- Accessibility Grants
- Inclusion Grants provide funding for small renovation projects to create or improve accessibility to the built environment. Built environment includes all person-made surroundings that provide the setting for human activity. Examples are buildings and facilities, playgrounds, sidewalks and boardwalks.
- Disability-Related Accommodations Grants
- Funding is also offered to non-profit, community-based organizations to provide disability-related accommodations for events and meetings.
Eligibility Criteria
Grant funding is available to non-profit, community-based organizations.
