The Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) has announced the Blackdown Hills Challenge Fund to support local projects that are tackling the climate emergency and the biodiversity crisis.
Through the Blackdown Hills Challenge Fund they made budget available which will provide grants of up to £5,000 for four to six projects within the Blackdown Hills AONB which:
- Mitigate or help the community to adapt to climate change
- Protect or increase biodiversity
- Engage new and diverse audiences
- Promote community action
- Create a lasting legacy
Eligible Projects
Examples of projects could include:
- An arts or creative project
- A citizen science project
- A community initiative to reduce waste or increase recycling
- A project focussed on supporting low carbon future
- A nature trail
- A community nature project
Criteria
Please include details of:
- What you’re proposing to do
- The reason funding is required
- The amount of funding you are seeking (and how you propose to contribute to the overall cost of the project)
- The legacy your project will provide.
