The SouthCoast Community Foundation is currently accepting applications for the 2021 Henry H. Crapo Foundation Fund.
The purpose of the Fund is to promote the well-being of the Greater New Bedford Area to support those 501(c)(3) local organizations that have the following characteristics relative to the core values of the Henry H. Crapo Foundation Fund:
- Demonstrable impact on the issue being addressed.
- A commitment to excellence in its work.
- Ability to be a catalyst for larger change.
- Addresses a clear community need.
- Strategically filling a funding gap that is otherwise difficult to fill.
Eligibility Criteria
- 501(c)3 refers to the specific section of the Internal Revenue Code that defines a nonprofit organization.
- Qualified 501(c)3 nonprofit, governmental, educational and religious organizations are eligible to apply for grants.
- The SouthCoast Community Foundation does not make grants to individuals.
- The SouthCoast Community Foundation is also prohibited from making grants or loans to small businesses. All grants must be used for charitable purposes.
- The SouthCoast Community Foundation’s service area spans 41 cities and towns in the region, with its primary funding focused on the SouthCoast communities of Greater New Bedford, Greater Fall River, and Southern Plymouth County.
- Cities and towns served by the SouthCoast Community Foundation: Abington, Acushnet, Attleboro, Avon, Berkley, Bourne, Bridgewater, Brockton, Carver, Dartmouth, Dighton, East Bridgewater, Easton, Fairhaven, Fall River, Freetown, Gosnold, Halifax, Hanson, Kingston, Lakeville, Mansfield, Marion, Mattapoisett, Middleborough, New Bedford, North Attleboro, Norton, Plymouth, Raynham, Rehoboth, Rochester, Seekonk, Somerset, Stoughton, Swansea, Taunton, Wareham, West Bridgewater, Westport, and Whitman.
