Deadline: 29-Oct-21
The Somerset Community Foundation’s Older People’s Fund is now open to support friendship clubs and active living groups, transport schemes and other projects to help older people (usually aged over 65) age well and feel part of their community. It’s about creating opportunities for older people to connect with others, so they don’t become isolated and lonely. It’s also about helping people to keep fit and healthy during their older years.
- is based in a more disadvantaged community. The team check the Index of Multiple Deprivation to see if you are in a richer or poorer part of Somerset. The Government publishes this Index.
- works with older people facing bigger challenges than others. This might include people with disabilities, or those with conditions like dementia
- actively works with other groups in your area to make sure everyone can benefit from what you provide
- has not received money from them in the last year.
- The Older People’s Fund has about £ 150,000 to give out this year.
- You can ask for £ 1,000 to £ 5,000.
- You can only apply if your group:
- usually runs on less than £ 500,000 a year
- is based in the county of Somerset (but not North Somerset or BANES)
