With financial support from the European Union, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), under its Low–Value Grant mechanism, is pleased to launch its Call for Proposals for small project grants to support community-based projects Strengthening Integrated Sustainable Landscape Management Project in Enga Province, Papua New Guinea (Enga SISLaM).
The Project aims to strengthen the sustainable and inclusive economic development of the Enga Province of Papua New Guinea.
Objectives
The Project has three Strategic Objectives:
- improving climate change mitigation and adaptation;
- strengthening food and nutrition efforts; and
- improving biodiversity and land/forest conservation.
Areas
Non-Government Organisations (NGOs), Civil Society Organisation s, Community Based Organisations (CBOs), Cooperative Societies and faith-based organisation s are encouraged to submit applications as long as they can demonstrate experience of implementing activities and the proposed projects contribute to the following areas:
- Environmental protection (forestry, biodiversity and wildlife management, combating land degradation, research).
- Development of community infrastructure (repair or restoration works at infrastructure or social facilities, for instance, buildings of schools, kindergartens, local hospitals, electricity lines, and drinking and irrigation water systems).
- Agriculture and economic development of the community (job creation, trade promotion).
- Climate-friendly livelihoods and job creation.
Funding Information
- Grant amount: The granted amount will range from a minimum of PGK 45,000.00 (Forty Five thousand Papua New Guinean Kina to a maximum of PGK 90,000.00 (Ninety thousand Papua New Guinean Kina) per proposal.
- The implementation period is 18 months from the date of signature of the grant agreement by the Grantee.
Eligibility Criteria
NGOs, CSOs, CBOs, Cooperative Societies and faith-based organisation s interested in applying for Low-Value Grant Projects should meet the following criteria:
- Proof of legal registration of the organisation with the Investment Promotion Authority of PNG.
- Organisations and their branches working in the Enga province have an advantage.
- Work experience in the provision of support or in implementing relevant activities. A minimum of 2 contracts implemented over the past four years (to be justified through the descriptions of the work performed, e.g., final implementation report and the contact details of the source of financing for the previous projects).
- An experienced team to implement the low-value grant projects (organisation al structure including title, function, and years of experience is required).
