Deadline: 24-Nov-21
LEAP Africa in collaboration with BudgIT Foundation & MacArthur Foundation is announcing its Call for Application for the Youth Leadership Programme (YLP) 2021.
The Youth Leadership Programme (YLP) is a 4-month Blended Leadership programme for young Nigerian undergraduates aged 18 – 30years which aims to equip and empower them with the skills, knowledge and resources required to become transformative leaders and active citizens who will drive sustainable development in their communities.
YLP seeks to empower, equip and support young change leaders, who are at the forefront of providing effective and innovative social change solutions, with the skills, knowledge and support system required for them to build sustainable organizations.
It is projected that by 2030, young Africans are expected to make up 42% of the world’s youth and account for about 75% of those under age 35 on the continent (Population Resource Bureau, 2019). Unfortunately, Africa’s youth bulge does not automatically translate to rapid economic growth and sustainable development. Last year’s nationwide EndSARS protests which stemmed from the economic and social pressures the Nigerian youth suffer, exposed that the Nigerian Youth are agitated, pressed for action and are able to work together to achieve a common goal.
