Program Focus
- SDG 12.3: Reducing food waste and loss in line with SDG 12.3 targets
- Food Waste Hierarchy: Solutions that reduce food waste before it is created
- Innovative Ideas: They want to work with Australian founders who are solving food waste or loss problems
SDG 12.3 has two components
- 12.3.1. Food Loss
- 12.3.2. Food Waste
Food loss focuses on food losses that occur up to the retail level, while food waste refers to retail and consumption waste. The focus of sustainable consumption and production is about doing more with less. To do this, it is vital that they increase resource efficiency and promote sustainable lifestyles, by decoupling economic growth from environmental degradation.
