As part of the EU4AGRI, EU4AGRI-Recovery and EU4BusinessRecovery projects, funded by the European Union (EU), a public call for grants for investments in processing capacities and marketing of agri-food products in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Through this public call, worth 3 million KM, the European Union will support investments in the processing capacities of the agri-food industry through the introduction of innovations and development of new and / or improvement of existing products, marketing tools, and ensuring business continuity and safe and healthy working environment in BiH.
Objectives
In order to achieve sustainable agriculture, controlled use of natural resources and introduction of good practices, the Projects expect to achieve the following goals through the implementation of measures to support investments in processing facilities, marketing of agri-food products and ensuring business continuity and safe and healthy working environment:
- Contribute to the stabilization / strengthening of production competitiveness and increase / maintain the level of productivity of the food industry through modernization and introduction of new technologies, innovations, and promotion of added value of agricultural and food products;
- Improving product quality, hygiene and food safety through the introduction of basic and higher quality standards;
- Promoting good practices and sustainable development by improving natural resource management, environmental protection, worker protection and food safety;
- Protection of business from the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and use of new business opportunities to strengthen business and access new markets.
Expected Results
The following results are expected through the implementation of this Public Call:
- successfully implemented a minimum of 30 investment projects with elements of modernization and technological development of processing capacities in order to increase the quantity and quality of products;
- increase in revenues of supported processing entities by 20% by the end of 2024 compared to 2020;
- Successfully implemented improvement of business practices related to safety and security at work, including measures to prevent the spread of COVID 19, food safety and the environment in 30 companies;
- created a minimum of 50 new jobs
NOTE: All project proposals / business plans that are not in line with the objectives and expected results of the Public Call Guidelines will not be considered.
Funding Information
Support funds per application can range from 30,000 KM to 300,000 KM (excluding VAT). For each project, the applicant must provide its own co-financing in the amount of at least 35% of the total amount of the proposed investment, while 65% of the investment costs are financed by the European Union through this public call.
Eligible Sectors
To support investments in processing capacities and marketing of food products, all projects that are exclusively related to the production of products for human consumption are eligible within the following sectors:
- fruit processing, winemaking and olive processing;
- vegetable processing;
- milk processing;
- meat processing;
- egg processing;
- fish processing and canning;
- processing of cereals (mill products only, except fodder);
- processing of mushrooms, herbs, medicinal herbs and honey (in this sector processing includes processes of processing / processing of fresh agricultural products and production exclusively of food products).
Eligibility Criteria
- Crafts, entrepreneurs, cooperatives and companies that are actively involved in winemaking, processing of olives, fruits, vegetables, milk, meat, egg processing, processing and canning of fish, processing of cereals, mushrooms, herbs, herbs and honey can apply for the public call.
- Within this public call, applications for projects that will be implemented on the territory of BiH are acceptable.
- Applications for projects related to investments in processing capacities located on the territory of local self-government units (LGUs) that belong to the underdeveloped in Republika Srpska (RS) or group IV in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) or extremely underdeveloped in RS or groups V in the FBiH will be given priority and will be awarded additional points in accordance with the scoring table. - Applicants may submit only one application to this public call. Applicants may submit applications for projects defined by this public call only independently. Applications from several applicants within one proposal will not be considered. Applicants are responsible for the implementation of the project, including financial obligations.
- The same applicants can be supported through Project support measures up to 3 times taking into account all public calls that will be published by the Projects (from 2020 to 2024). Also, applicants can be beneficiaries of the Projects only once through the same support measure.
- Before submitting the next application to any of the future public calls for support, the applicant must fully realize the investment from the active contract (eg obtain approval for the Investment Report), and fully fulfill all contractual obligations, including those based on employment and achieve increase in revenue in accordance with the dynamics specified in the business plan.
