The Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund’s (LEAF) Reproductive Justice Project is now open to fund three research projects to support and inform the law reform efforts in the area of reproductive justice.
LEAF is starting its Reproductive Justice Project. Through this project, LEAF is looking to develop and advance law reform proposals linked to key reproductive justice issues. They are seeking three researchers to help develop the foundation for these proposals.
All three researchers will be asked to conduct literature reviews on key reproductive justice law and policy issues in specific jurisdictions, and summarize their findings. They will be asked to “issue spot” and provide links to resources.
Literature Reviews
The scope of the literature reviews are outlined:
- Ontario and Nova Scotia
- Alberta and Manitoba
- Quebec
Funding Information
- Successful applicants will be awarded $5,000 (for Projects 1 and 2) or $2,500 (for Project 3) to complete their research. Reports must be submitted by March 31, 2022.
Application Process
- Applicants must submit the following as a single PDF attachment:
- A letter of intent outlining the project(s) applied for, and summarizing the applicant’s relevant expertise/experience in relation to the project(s) (maximum two pages per letter)
- Applicant’s CV
- A brief writing sample (5-10 pages)
- Applicants may apply to be considered for multiple projects, but a maximum of one project will be awarded per successful applicant. Only one letter of intent is required even if applying for multiple projects.
- Applicants for Project 3 (Quebec) must be able to conduct legal and policy research in French.
