Movetia is pleased to announce the Youth and Politics Program for Young People to Experience Political Participation and democratic processes in practice. Together with young people from other countries and with decision-makers, they discuss topics relating to youth policy.
Projects in the youth and politics sphere support the development of youth policy strategies and the active participation of young people in democratic life. This takes place in a dialogue between young people and political decision-makers.
The transnational activities in the youth policy sphere are very diverse and range from events and seminars through to debates. What they have in common is that the young participants take an active role in planning, preparing and implementing the projects.
How are projects in the Youth and Politics sphere funded by Movetia?
- Travel allowance: Travel abroad: CHF 400.- for international travel, CHF 50.– for domestic travel.
- Organisational support: CHF 49.- per day and person.
- Support for participation of people with special needs: 100% of costs actually eligible for funding
- Exceptional costs (Visa and visa related costs, residence permits, vaccinations, medical certifications): 100% of the costs actually eligible for funding.
- The total budget is limited to CHF 62’000.
Eligible Activities
Activities eligible for funding are:
- Events that simulate the functioning of democratic institutions and/or the roles of decision-makers, e.g. transnational youth parliaments.
- Transnational meetings, debates or seminars which facilitate dialogue between young people and those in charge of youth policy.
Eligible Countries
Within the framework of Youth in Action, cooperation is possible with partner organisations from the following countries:
- Programme countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Northern Macedonia, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, United Kingdom.
- Neighbouring partner countries: Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Moldavia, Montenegro, Morocco, Palestine, Russia, Syria, Tunisia, Ukraine.
Eligibility Criteria
- Participants: Young people aged between 13 and 30 can take part provided they are resident in one of the participating countries. At least 30 young people must take part in a project in the youth and politics sphere. Youth policy-makers, decision-makers or experts can take part in the project, regardless of their age or origin.
- Duration: At least 2, maximum 14 days (not including travel days). Total project duration including preparation and follow-up evaluation: from 3 to 24 months.
- Location: The youth exchange must take place in Switzerland (Incoming project) or in the country of one of the participating organisations (Outgoing project).
What organisations can submit projects?
- charitable organisations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs)
- public-sector bodies at local, regional or national level
- an informal group of young people aged between 13 and 30
- social enterprises
- umbrella organisations, regional associations
- companies active in the Corporate Social Responsibility sector
- European youth NGOs
The applicant organisation must be based in Switzerland. Partner organisations may come from both a programme country and a neighbouring partner country.
At least two organisations from different countries must take part.
