The 2021–22 Multicultural Community Infrastructure Fund (MCIF) offers grants to Victoria’s culturally diverse communities to help upgrade, renovate and maintain community infrastructure.
The 2021-22 MCIF Program aims to achieve this objective by offering grants up to $500,000 for multicultural community infrastructure projects that can be delivered by 1 May 2023 that:
- Support the community to celebrate and share their history and traditions
- Build community connections and networks to participate in society.
Funding Streams
The 2021–22 MCIF program offers two funding streams:
- Small stream: Grants up to $100,000 to upgrade or renovate multicultural community infrastructure
- Large stream: $100,001—$500,000 to upgrade, extend or build multicultural community infrastructure
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible through the 2021-22 MCIF Program your organisation must be either:
- a not-for-profit entity
- which you must clearly validate by showing your organisation is:
- registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission
- or registered with Consumer Affairs Victoria as an incorporated association
- or registered under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) or the Associations Incorporation Reform Act 2012 (Vic)
- or through your organisation’s constitution/ rules or governance documents.
- a social enterprise with a clearly stated purpose or mission related specifically to supporting multiculturalism. Social enterprises must attach their constitution or rules with their application.
- Definition – ‘social enterprises’
- led by an economic, social, cultural, or environmental mission consistent with a public or community benefit
- derive a substantial portion of their income from trade
- reinvest the majority of their profit or surplus in the fulfilment of their mission (at least 50 per cent).
- Eligible organisations must have:
- a current Australian Business Number (ABN), and
- no outstanding project reports from previous Fairer Victoria funded grants, including Multicultural Affairs.
