Deadline: 28-Feb-22
The Centers for Disease Control – CGH is pleased to announce a call for proposals for the Comprehensive Community-based Programming to Maintain HIV Epidemic Control in Eswatini under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR).
This NOFO aligns with PEPFAR investments to support the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini (GKoE) to sustain HIV epidemic control and reduce incident HIV and TB infections. While facility-based programming has been instrumental in Eswatini’s success, maintaining gains and closing remaining gaps will rely on complementary community-based, client-centered programming. This NOFO therefore aims to implement community-based, comprehensive, resilient, and evidence-based programming, with a focus on the Manzini and Lubombo regions and the aforementioned target populations utilizing the following 4 strategies:
- Expand evidence-based community HIV and GBV prevention interventions for vulnerable and at-risk populations in targeted geographical areas.
- Implement community-based, population-specific, and data-driven approaches to efficiently identify and link HIV and TB cases to treatment.
- Strengthen community-based differentiated and client-centered HIV and TB services to sustain HIV epidemic control and achieve TB epidemic control benchmarks.
- Strengthen the capacity of PLHIV networks, CSOs, faith communities and other community structures to provide HIV, TB and GBV services in the community.
Purpose
The purpose of this NOFO is to:
- Support the GKoE to implement quality, data-driven, comprehensive, and resilient HIV and TB community programs that will maintain epidemic control and mitigate the impact of public health, environmental, or political threats
- Use an innovative and sustainable community interface to implement comprehensive strategies that improve outcomes for people living with and at risk for HIV and TB
- Build the capacity of community-based organizations (CBOs) and faith communities to manage and implement programs that can be used to address emerging public health threats
