The Ministry of Social Affairs has announced the applications for the Small Grant Scheme for Developing Restorative Justice Measures in Estonia.
The aim of granting this support is to expand the use of approaches and methods based on restorative justice in institutions for children and youth, social, child protection and youth work, the police, the prosecutor’s office, courts, probation services, closed institutions, including prisons, and in society in general. Additional aim of the small grant scheme is to support through partnership projects the creation of local level cooperation networks through which restorative methods will be implemented case-by-case.
Funding Information
- Overall budget of the open call is 408 750 euros. Project grant to be awarded to a single project falls between 30 000 – 150 000 euros. The maximum project grant rate is 85%-100% of eligible total project costs.
- A project may run up to 22 months, but must be finalised no later than April 30, 2024.
Eligible Activities
The activities to be supported under small grant scheme are:
- piloting new methods based on restorative justice in working with juvenile and young offenders;
- testing the approaches and methods based on restorative justice in various environments, including institutions for children and youth, social, child protection and youth work, the police, the prosecutor’s office, court, probation service, and closed institution, including prison;
- awareness-raising activities, including information days, information materials, printed matter, video and audio recordings, etc.;
- activities for the inclusion of community in raising awareness and improving knowledge and skills regarding restorative justice;
- training activities, including training courses, seminars, workshops, exchange of practices, training courses for future trainers, etc.;
- pilot projects with the aim of creating a community based on restorative justice, e.g. restorative school, workplace, city;
- production of study materials, guidelines, instructions etc.; compilation, design, printing etc.;
- other supporting activities that help to expand the use of restorative justice.
Eligibility Criteria
An eligible applicant is a legal person registered in Estonia or an international organisation acting in Estonia.
