Applications are now open for the Arkansas LGBTQ+ Advancement Fund to support organizations working to improve the quality of life for LGBTQ+ Arkansans by providing legal, health, education, advocacy or other high-demand services/programs.
The Fund is supported through grants from the Alice L. Walton Foundation and from Olivia and Tom Walton through the Walton Family Foundation. It is also supported by additional funds from the Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation.
The Fund distributes grants to Arkansas-based organizations that provide critical services to the state’s LGBTQ+ community. National entities with a local presence, established in-state partnerships and strong community relationships also qualify.
Types of Grants
- Program Grants: These grants will support the program costs for initiatives that directly support services to the Arkansas LGBTQ+ community. Organizations must be headquartered in Arkansas or have a significant basis of operation in Arkansas (for example, an office, staff person or on-the-ground programs.)
- Impact Grants: These grants are for Arkansas-based grassroots organizations led by and serving LGBTQ+ communities with an annual operating budget of $150,000 or less and must provide services to LGBTQ+ Arkansans as an explicit focus of the organization.

- Program Grants: Grants will typically range from $25,000 to $150,000
- Impact Grants: These grants will be $25,000 and less.
Eligibility Criteria
501(c) (3) organizations, public schools, churches, hospitals and government entities are eligible to apply. Other organizations that do not qualify for tax-exempt status are not eligible.
Criteria
- Must be a 501(c)(3) public charity, public school, hospital, church or government entity. Applicants may use a fiscal sponsor if needed
- Organizations must provide legal, health, education, advocacy or other high-demand services/programs for LGBTQ+ Arkansans.
- Organizations must be headquartered in Arkansas or have a significant basis of operation in Arkansas (for example, an office, staff person or on-the-ground programs)

- have a mission that directly incorporates work on behalf of LGBTQ+ community or
- intend to incorporate services for LGBTQ+ individuals into the delivery of the organization’s larger programs and mission
