The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is calling for proposals for the recruitment of a local implementing partner in the framework of economic recovery and strengthening of resilience through the rehabilitation of roads through the manufacture of Artisanal Stone Pavers / South Kivu Province.
Objectives
- The global objective of the present call for proposals for fixed-cost projects is to identify, within the framework of the Japanese Supplementary Budget / BSJ project, «JSB2020: Support rapid recovery following floods and intercommunal conflicts in favor of strengthening sustainability and stability in the communities affected by the crisis “, a partner NGO for the implementation of activities of a product of this project” Support the creation of temporary jobs through the rehabilitation of community infrastructures according to the approach work for the benefit of 1000 households in Sud-Kivu. The target to be covered by these activities concerns only the city of Uvira. 320 direct beneficiaries are expected for the city of Uvira. The partner will use the HIMO strategy for the execution of dedicated tasks in this project.

- The economic recovery of the target communities in Uvira is encouraged by the implementation of revenue-generating activities, the creation of temporary jobs and the support of SME companies (with an emphasis on the recovery of subsistence resources). vulnerable people who have suffered from the effects of COVID-19).

Project duration
The total duration of the implementation of the project’s activities is of six (6) months.
Expected Results
Two Products are waiting for this partnership.
- Product 1: Recruit and train 320 workers on artisanal manufacturing techniques as well as the placement of paving stones;
- Product 2: 320 Temporary jobs are created by paving pavements in an artisanal / volet rehabilitative manner of community infrastructures according to the funded approach to work of which 40% are women.
Eligibility Criteria
- At the end of the present call for projects, only the pre-selected NGOs found in the Roster are eligible. Nevertheless, they must meet the following selection criteria:
- There is already an operational structure on the ground in the suspended areas, with good expertise in the field of socio-economic reintegration of vulnerable people and in reconstruction, rehabilitation of roads (formulation, monitoring of work).
- Effectuer or had previously carried out a field visit to the rehabilitation infrastructure.
- By submitting itself, the submitting structure will have visited the infrastructure / location where the work will be carried out according to the project and will not ignore the two difficulties:
- In the geographical situation;
- In climatic conditions;
- On the road;
- To transport problems;
- To the resistance of the land destined to receive the works to be rehabilitated. The nature of the rehabilitation works for the case of the infrastructures to be reconstructed.
