The OSCE Academy in Bishkek is calling applications for Certificate Training in Peace and Conflict that will provide the participants with a comprehensive introduction to concepts, tools, and methods in the field of conflict transformation.
In the first half of the course, the focus will be put on an in-depth exploration of key terms and concepts as well as tools of conflict analysis. During the second part of the training, the conflict situation KODORI will be implemented, dealing with proto-typical challenges of a post-war situation. In the role of key stakeholders, the participants will have the task to negotiate a comprehensive peace agreement after a first ceasefire has been agreed upon. This experience will give the possibility for the participants to test the gained competencies in a realistic environment, get a deeper understanding of complex conflict dynamics and develop ideas for effective interventions in conflict settings. The whole training course will be held interactively, giving space for reflection as well as an exchange of experiences between the participants.
The OSCE Academy in Bishkek is a public foundation that promotes regional cooperation, conflict prevention, and good governance in wider Central Asia through postgraduate education, professional training, and intellectual exchange. The Academy offers MA degree programs in Economic Governance and Development and Politics and Security provides experts training and conducts demand-driven research.

Eligibility Criteria
- Junior and mid-level professionals from civil society, NGOs, and governmental organizations from five Central Asian republics, Afghanistan and Mongolia;
- Researchers, activists, and experts from these countries are also eligible to apply;
- Completed BA or MA degree in Social Sciences or other related fields;
- Be motivated and ready to dedicate 5 full days to intensive training (attending lectures, participating in all assignments in mornings, afternoons, and some evenings).
