The Multi-Materials Stewardship Board (MMSB) has announced a call for applications for the 2022 Come Home Year Community Cleanup Project to support the cleanup of litter or improperly disposed bulk items in communities across the province.
This initiative is specifically targeted to community cleanups in areas such as roadsides, trails, beaches, parks, and outdoor recreational spaces. Cleanups can address litter and/or improperly disposed bulk items but does not replace regularly scheduled residential bulk garbage collection events.
Not-for-profit/community organizations may also apply for cleanup activities outside of municipal boundaries.
Funding Information
Maximum amounts for project funding will be based on community population or project scope for not-for-profit/community organizations. The maximum amount of funding available for a project is $5,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Funding is available to municipalities, local service districts, Indigenous community governments and organizations and non-profit/community organizations.
- Applicants will organize cleanups of materials in their communities that have been discarded inappropriately and are encouraged to involve businesses, community organizations, schools, and residents in projects.
