The French and German Embassy in Azerbaijan are jointly launch the second French-German Gender Equality Prize that aims at rewarding an Azerbaijani initiative that contributes to gender equality in Azerbaijan.
The French and German Embassy in Azerbaijan join together to offer the second French-German Gender Equality Prize of Azerbaijan. France and Germany actively seek to promote equal rights and equal opportunities for girls and women in Azerbaijan.
Project Details
Each applicant is invited to submit a project that she has initiated and is leading herself. The project submitted by the applicant must be a concrete project already undertaken and currently in progress (no virtual project is eligible). Therefore, it is required to show that the project has already started and has been already implemented, partly or fully. The submission should relate to one of the following topics:
- Promotion of women leadership : strengthening the place of women in politics, and/or economics and/or on the labor market
- Women in conflict resolution and peace-building process
- Fight against gender-based violence
- Questioning Gender-based stereotypes
- Promotion of creative women: support to female artists, as for instance movie makers, fashion stylist, architects, etc.
Eligibility Criteria
- All Azerbaijani girls and women who are engaged in a concrete initiative in favour of gender equality in one of the following fields are welcome to send their application:
- Promotion of women leadership in politics or business
- Promotion of creative women in art and culture
- Promotion of the role of women in conflict resolution and peace-building process
- Fight against Gender-based violence
- Questioning Gender-based stereotypes
- This contest is opened to English-speaking (B2 level minimum) Azerbaijani women. Only complete applications, submitted before the deadline (April 11th, 2022), will be taken into account. Each participant declares having read and agreed fully with the competition’s rules. Each applicant will present a completed or ongoing project upon which the jury decision will be based. The prize does not contribute to the projects funding nor implementation. Applicants should ensure they comply with vaccination rules applied to travel to France by the beginning of July 2022 and to Germany accordingly.
Terms of Participation
The French and German Embassy will short-list the five best projects and the five finalist applicants will be reviewed by a jury composed of seven persons representing France, Germany and Azerbaijan. These five candidates will be invited to introduce their initiative in English in front of the jury and answer its questions. The jury will then select the final winner. The contest laureate will be rewarded by the French Embassy with a one month studying visit to France to take part in a leading educational training program in the field of human rights and sustainable development (Summer School at Sciences-Po-Paris Campus, July 2022), as well with a stay in Germany awarded by the German Embassy.
