The Community Recreation Enhancement Grant (CREG) is a City of Red Deer grant program that provides financial support to not-for-profit organizations delivering recreation initiatives in the community.
The City of Red Deer recognizes the important contribution made by non-profit recreation organizations in the provision of recreation opportunities and events.
This grant program is designed to support these organizations to support and enhance their ability to deliver recreation services and programs to Red Deer residents.
Funding Information
- A total of approximately $100,000 is available through this grant program each funding year.
- A maximum of $5,000 will be awarded to each successful applicant.
Eligibility Criteria

To apply, applicants must be a registered non-profit organization in good standing. In order to be considered for this grant intake, projects must meet the following requirements:
- Contribute to at least one of the nine Community Goals as listed in the Social Policy Framework
- Demonstrate that at least 50% of those directly benefiting from the project are Red Deer residents
- Successful applicants must agree to report on positive enhancements or identifiable improvements that occur due to the grant funding as required.
- Eligible applicants may submit more than one application per deadline date.
