The Joseph E. and Marjorie B. Jones Foundation Grant Program is now open to improve the quality of life for all people, particularly those residing in the greater Washington, D.C. region (DC/MD/VA), by funding human services and health care initiatives and furthering the cause of education.
The Foundation principally supports projects and initiatives located in the greater Washington, D.C. region (DC/MD/VA) by funding human services, health care initiatives and furthering the cause of education with measurable and tangible objectives.
Goals
- The Foundation strives to build partnerships that help them fulfill the mission of making a difference in the greater Metropolitan Washington, DC region (DC/MD/VA).
- They preserve the credibility by remaining independent and objective.
- They vow that although the financial resources are limited, they will aid organizations that inspire, uplift and motivate.
- With the financial help, the grant awardees will foster progression of the individual and therefore, the community.
- The Foundation seeks to support organizations that create strong and sustainable bonds of trust between those living in the communities they support, and the infra-structure of that community.
Beliefs
- The Foundation believes that civic duty is not a choice; it is an important responsibility of living in a vibrant and progressive community.
- They believe that all individuals have inherent worth and dignity.
- They believe that given the right opportunities and resources, all people can improve their lives regardless of race, sex, religion or current social-economic condition.
- They believe that seemingly complex and insurmountable civic problems can be solved using cooperation, respect, hope and the combinations of physical, spiritual and financial resources.
- The Foundation believes that they must work as partners with other businesses and individuals in supporting the charitable institutions through which The Jones Foundation assists residents of Washington, DC and its surrounding communities.
The Foundation does not support basic research, scholarships, publications, films, construction, acquisition of buildings, special events, fund raising, sectarian religious activities, political lobbying or legislative activities. They also tend not to support capital improvement and challenge grant requests.
Eligibility Criteria
Grants will only be provided to entities organized and operated exclusively for charitable or educational purposes, which have qualified under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
