Deadline: 15-Jun-22
The Devon Community Foundation is pleased to announce an open call for the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) Community Grant to provide short term funding for projects and initiatives which aim to raise awareness of the risks around drug use, or which divert young people and adults from becoming involved in illegal drugs activity.
Priorities
- Workshops with children and young people to inform them of the risks associated with illegal drug use and empower them to make positive choices.
- Positive and/or diversionary activities that build relationships within communities and alternative pathways for people at risk.
- Counselling, advice and support for those involved in illegal drug use and finding it hard to manage their situation.
- Provision of safe spaces.
- Work that informs young people and protects them from harm, whether online or in person.
Funding Information
- Grants of between £1,000 and £10,000.
Area of Benefit
- The geographic area of support for this funding will be Devon, including Torbay and Plymouth.
What they can be funded?
- Applications for costs related to activity delivery will be considered, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
- Core costs will be funded as long as it can be seen that they are proportionate and directly contribute to the activity described and aims of the grant scheme.
- If your organisation is able to reclaim VAT, your funding request must exclude VAT.
What they can't be funded?
- Alcohol or medication
- Large scale building works or refurbishment
- Capital purchases over £1,500 in total
- Consultancy or feasibility studies
- Match funding for large projects where the link between a grant awarded and overall project outcomes are not clear
- Arts and sports related activity where there is no clear social engagement or community benefit
- Loss of income
- Organisations or activities that primarily support animal welfare
- Overseas travel
- Projects or activity which promote political or religious beliefs
- Retrospective funding i.e. activity that has already taken place or been committed to
- Sponsorship or fundraising activities
Eligiblity Criteria
- Not for profit, voluntary or community groups, registered charities or social enterprises that are providing services or activities for the benefit of people and communities in Devon, including Plymouth and Torbay, are eligible to apply.
- Organisations who hold a current grant from us from another grant scheme are eligible to apply but must demonstrate how their proposed activity is different to and does not duplicate their existing project.
- Priority will be for organisations with an annual income below £300,000 and we are particularly keen to encourage small, grassroots organisations to apply.
- Applications will be considered from organisations with a higher income level, but the applicant will need to clearly show in their application how this funding will add value to their work and why they need to fund the project from this grant scheme.
