Applications are now open for the Mazda Foundation Grant Program in the US.
The Mazda Foundation connects Mazda and its employees to the communities in which they live and work by collaborating with, and supporting, innovative local organizations whose integrity and contributions inspire them by making each community a better place to live. What matters most is one another, and Mazda strives to helps its employees and community members live healthy, joyful lives.
They support a variety of causes with a focus on food security, STEM, and workforce development. And as community needs change, they adapt their giving to offer the most effective support.
Details
The Mazda Foundation awards grants to programs promoting:
- Education and literacy
- Environmental conservation
- Cross-cultural understanding
- Social welfare
- Scientific research
The Foundation does not support:
- Individuals
- Political organizations
- Religious organizations
- Fundraising dinners or events
- Capital building, endowment, or debt reduction drives
- Organizations without 501(c)(3) designations
- Requests in foreign countries
Eligibility Criteria
Organizations seeking funding should carefully review the Foundation’s grant making guidelines to determine if their project is aligned with the Foundation’s mission before submitting an application. The Mazda Foundation primarily considers grant applications from organizations located in markets where Mazda has offices (Irvine, CA; Bridgewater, N.J.; Oakbrook Terrace, IL; Houston, TX; and Huntsville, AL).
The formal proposal should include
- Verification of Internal Revenue Service 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status
- Mission statement of the organization
- Purpose and objectives of the proposed program
- Detailed outline of the project accompanied by an implementation schedule
- Proposed budget for the project
- Plans for evaluating program accomplishments
- Most recent financial statements
- Names and affiliations of Trustees of Board of Directors
- List of major contributors
