The CST Inspired Minds Learning Project has funded a broad range of community organizations and programs across Canada focused on leadership, inclusivity, and other qualities that inspire K-12 students to forge a brighter future.

What do they mean by “academic upskilling and engagement” activities?
Academic upskilling and engagement programs are those that support children to obtain the necessary grades, skills, and self-confidence to succeed in school. This helps ensure that students are academically prepared and equipped to pursue post-secondary education.
Examples of academic upskilling and engagement activities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- programs that support academic success (e.g. homework help, tutoring)
- programs that support school engagement and attachment (e.g. non-traditional approaches to learning, experiential learning, school attendance incentives)
- programs that support interest in learning (e.g. extra curricular programs)
- programs that build self confidence and motivation (e.g. mentoring, programs that improve soft skills)
Eligibility Criteria
- Applying organizations must:
- Be a not-for-profit organization based in Canada (charitable status not required)
- Intend to use the funding for an eligible program
- Use the funds within 6 months of receipt
- The program must:
- Be an educational, mentorship, or extra curricular engagement program
- For children and/or youth in grades K-12 from lower-income families
- Take place in Canada
