The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced a request for proposals for Provision of Creative Sector Training to organize a comprehensive Creative Economy Digital training for two selected cohorts of participants to advance their economic potential of creative activities including but not limited craft-making, fashion, design, marketing or beauty services.
UNDP Libya through the EU funded project Strengthening Local Capacities for Resilience and Recovery aims at supporting local authorities to respond to the many conflict and human mobility induced challenges – by strengthening the local resilience and recovery mechanisms – that impact negatively citizens’ access to economic opportunities and sources of livelihoods.
The Contractor shall use creative economy curriculums, and organize the training sessions in Tripoli focusing on range of creative economy drivers such as social media, market access, design and online designs. The setup of the creative economy training will be guided by preliminary assessment organized by UNDP in Tripoli in the selected center (one of the locations).
Objectives
Creative Economy training targets opening or enhancing economic opportunities for talented craft-makers, fashion designers, stylists and marketing, photography providers in Libya. The assignment will include the following objectives:
- Strategy and Curriculum for Creative Economy Training.
- Training in two centers in Tripoli of 60 (approximate) people.
Scope of Works and Expected Outputs
Creative Economy Digital Training includes the following components and durations for a training of a cohort:
- Advertisement of Creative Economy curriculum and training at the identified locations or centers or 2 weeks in advance of the training (off-line and on-line versions in social media).
- 2 days: Ideation workshops of creative sector, in person facilitation. Invited speakers/trainers to inspire and share personal stories of commercialization of their creative skills. The active facilitation should include the focus on entrenchment of the indigenous and unique Libyan identity and culture, fostering and helping to commercialize products, ideas and services, which include but not limited to fashion, food and pastry, photography among other products.
- 3 days: Provision of practical business skills education to women and youth in all areas relevant specific to creative industry, and in particular selling crafts, and services in their local community.
- 5 days: Provision of practical training in designing the brand, social media marketing, and in particular setting up Facebook pages, Instagram business accounts, creating videos and content design, digital skills training to running ads, analyses social media trends. Specific advanced technology tools shall be introduced to the trainees, including but not limited to Instagram reels, YouTube, and other productivity or marketing tools.
- Demo day workshop culminates with each participant presents the ideas, launches the product pages, shares the defined market access and marketing strategies. Contractor should facilitate the campaign and production of the recording and video interview of the participants’ project summary.
Training must be delivered using hybrid or blended-learning approach, allowing participants to have in-person engagement and facilitation, as well as work on their designs, branding, and products online, and get guidance and mentorship along way. Estimated participation for the first cohort is minimum 20 people and for the second cohort minimum 40 people.
Special considerations in training package setup should be given to cultural context of Libya.
Eligibility Criteria
- Officially registered company in Libya.
- At least 2 years of experience in provision of business or vocational trainings in Libya.
- Availability of human resources that will ensure due quality and timely implementation of the contract, including the invited expert trainers/influencers.
- At least 1 organized digital training organized in Libya.
