Applications are now open for the District of Columbia Community Stormwater Solutions Grant Program.
The goals of this Request for Applications (RFA) are to protect and enhance, directly or indirectly, the District’s water bodies or watersheds. Another goal is to create new community partners and strengthen existing relationships with community-based organizations and small businesses. This program will support community-oriented and inspired projects that are designed to increase knowledge and lead to behavior change as it relates to watershed and stormwater-related issues.
Program provides funding for innovative, community-oriented and –inspired projects, aimed at improving water quality in the District of Columbia, reducing litter, and raising awareness about what they can do to restore their rivers, streams, and parks.
Funding Information
- Amount: Up to $35,000
- Total Amount available in the program: approximately $300,000
What this does this program fund?
- Activities such as educational events/workshops, installation and maintenance of runoff-reducing green infrastructure, art installations, restoration of habitat, litter or pollution reduction or other project-types that meet the goals of the grant program.
- Projects should be inspired and supported by the priority community within the District.
Eligibility Criteria
- The funding partners welcome requests from the following entities physically located in the District: non-profit organizations, small businesses, schools and universities, government agencies, and more.
- DOEE and the Trust welcomes requests from the following organizations physically located in the District of Columbia:
- Nonprofit organizations, including those with IRS 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) determinations;
- Faith-based organizations;
- Government agencies;
- Universities/educational institutions; and
- Private Enterprises.
