The Community Foundation’s John D Fund is now open to support artistic projects for children and young people in Tyne & Wear and Northumberland.
Foundation Mission
The Community Foundation grows giving and philanthropy, matching generous people with their region’s important community causes. They do this by:
- enabling people from all walks of life to set up charitable funds, collectively give or share expertise;
- supporting small, local charities and community organizations through grants from the funds and help from their networks;
- shining a light on vital issues affecting their area and working with others to tackle them;
- building or rendowment as an asset for their communities now, and for generations to come.
Funding Information
Grant Range: £750 – £2,500
The John D Fund Will support:
- Activities
- Sessional staff costs and volunteer expenses
- Project resources and equipment
- Contribution to overheads (administration and utilities etc)
- Continuation /repeat funding for an existing grant-funded activity.
The John D Fund Not supported:
- Statutory activities including lessons or curriculum time teaching costs or resources
- foreign travel
- Items given for permanent personal use (eg clothing; equipment; trophies/prizes)
Criteria
- Artistic projects must be delivered outside of school time
- Activity is purely recreational and not linked to accreditation or qualifications
- Project must be able to start within 3 months of receipt of the grant
- The amount applied for must mean the project can go ahead (not part funding for a larger project.
