The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) invites Civil Society Institutions, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and/or non-governmental legal entities operating in the Kyrgyz Republic to take part in the competition for proposals for the “Implementation of small grants aimed at supporting the initiatives of the Public Prevention Centers of the LCPC (they are local Advisory Extremism Prevention Groups) .
This Request for Proposals for a Grant has been launched under the UNDP project “Building Resilience to Violent Extremism in Asia” (STRIVE Asia, EU-UN Joint partnership).
Objectives
- The overall objective of STRIVE Asia is to contribute to P/CVE in Central Asia, Southeast Asia and South Asia through a whole of society and multi-stakeholder approach including Governments, security actors, local authorities and communities, civil society, academia, media and the private sector.
- The Project seeks to support beneficiary countries so that key Government and non-government actors are better prepared to contribute to P/CVE objectives in targeted regions and countries. It also seeks to enhance the capacity of authorities to develop and implement P/CVE strategies, action plan and other policy documents, considering international standards, good practices and lessons learnt.
Funding Information
- The maximum allowable budget is up to USD $60,000.
- Duration: All projects shall be implemented within the period starting from signing of the Low-Value Grant Agreement with UNDP till December 05, 2022.
Expected Outcomes
- At least 25 initiatives supportedimplemented.
- At least 300 direct beneficiaries reached out.
Eligibility Criteria
- Civil Society Organizations, Non-governmental Organizations and/or non-governmental legal entities established and registered in the Kyrgyz Republic.
- Proposals from a consortium of two or more non-profit organizations established and registered in the Kyrgyz Republic shall be accepted.
- All Consortium members – Low-Value Grant Applicants shall be legal entities established and registered in the Kyrgyz Republic as non-profit organizations in accordance with the current legislation.
- The Applicant shall submit the project proposal on behalf of one of the organizations authorized by the consortium member organizations to represent the consortium, with all subsequent commitments to its members and the Grantor.
- The Low-Value Grant applicant shall have proven experience working with local communities, especially with youth.
- The Low-Value Grant applicant shall have proven experience in distribution of development grants.
- The applicant has a network of representative offices/branches in the south and north of the Kyrgyzstan.
- The Low-Value Grant will be awarded through public call to a winner – the applicant who can cover all 9 target locations to support Public Prevention Centers (the same as Local Advisory Groups on the prevention of violent extremism) to strengthen community resilience and preventive approaches in PVE in 9 target municipalities of Kyrgyzstan, as well as to assist in the implementation of local PVE action plans.
