Women’s Foundation in Georgia is announcing the grant competition “Prevention of violence against women” with an aim to eliminate domestic and gender-based violence.
Center for Psychosocial and Medical Rehabilitation of Torture Victims (GCRT) together with partner organizations: Union Safar, Supporting Group of Women’s Initiatives, Marneuli Democratic Women’s Society, Artarea and Women’s Foundation in Georgia implements the project “Gender-based and Promoting the elimination of domestic violence”. The project is financed by the European Union.
Priorities
Priority will be given to the following project applications:
- Whose target region is: Kakheti, Racha-Lechkhumi – Kvemo Svaneti, Imereti and Kvemo Kartli;
- The purpose of which is to identify ways to solve the problem both at the local and municipal level.
Funding & Duration information
- The maximum grant amount is 10,000 euros.
- The minimum term of project implementation is six, and the maximum is ten months.
Possible activities
- Initiatives involving protection of women’s rights, advocacy and lobbying;
- Provision of services;
- Legislative initiatives, documenting the violation of the rights of women and LGBTQI+ persons;
- Monitoring the implementation of laws and conventions;
- Victim support programs;
- Development/implementation of preventive mechanisms;
- Ensuring the safety of victims of gender-based violence (including digital safety);
- Raising the awareness of the local population.
Eligibility Criteria
Those working on women’s issues can participate in the competition:
- Non-governmental organizations registered in Georgia;
- Initiative groups.
Applicants should preferably have work experience in the following areas:
- Gender-based and domestic violence;
- women’s rights;
- sexual and reproductive health and rights;
- Rights of women representing ethnic and religious minorities;
- LGBTQ+ persons;
- displaced women;
- women with disabilities;
- Women sentenced to probation;
- and others
