The India Foundation for the Arts (IFA) is seeking proposals from school teachers to be involved as facilitators of these projects with the aim of implementing art integration projects in government schools in Karnataka.
Kali Kalisu is an attempt to make learning in students a continuous process along with the adoption of art media by teachers in the teaching process. A desire to bring about a student-centered learning system through integrated efforts of creative movement and curriculum that transcends the school room and strengthens a special relationship with the outside world through story, song, drama, painting and any indigenous art form.
Based on the above objectives, IFAU is inviting project proposals. These projects, which complement school curricula, should build a solid foundation for arts-based curricula. It is desirable that art-based assignments that encourage students’ creativity and research quality are clearly addressed in their proposal.
Scopes
- Plans to be implemented should clearly include any of the following elements:
- Parents, students, teachers, those involved in art service and many other stakeholders should be involved in the scope of the project.
- Efforts should be made to incorporate local resources or art forms into classroom teaching methods.
- The project should specifically practice any art other than theatre, music, folklore, visual arts, photography, film, literary arts to encourage student-centred learning.
- The project should be instrumental in motivating the school community to create social justice and environmental awareness.
- The plan should advocate the continuing possibilities of arts-based learning, in these days of the Corona pandemic.
- Apart from this, other short term or long term innovative and creative art education projects will also be considered.

A maximum of Rs. 1,00,000/- upto.
Eligibility Criteria
- Government school administrators, head teachers, block and cluster resource persons, subject teachers, art teachers and district education center lecturers.
- The criteria for eligibility to apply under are as follows:
- Only Indian nationals can apply. This does not include PIO (Persons of Indian Origin) and OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) Card Holders.
- Applicants must have PAN card and one of the following for proof of identity and citizenship – Indian Passport or Aadhar Card or Voter’s ID in India
- Only individuals can apply. Organisations of any kind cannot apply
- If there are collaborators in the projects, they must also be Indian nationals
- Persons who have a past history of financial delinquency with IFA are not eligible
- Persons who have failed to deposit at IFA agreed deliverables from an earlier IFA grant are not eligible
- Persons who have previously received a letter from IFA disallowing them from applying in the future for any reason are not eligible
- More than one individual can apply if they have a joint account. If they do not, then only one among them should apply with the others as collaborators
