Nominations are now open for the Out for Australia’s 30 Under 30 Awards to recognise young LGBTQIA+ people under the age of 30 who are:
- Making tangible contribution/s to bettering the lives of LGBTQIA+ people in Australia,
- Demonstrating success in their career, and
- Living with authenticity, courage and resilience – demonstrating the qualities of a role model.
Categories
- Thirty people will be named the 30 Under 30 Award Winners and five people will be named Category Winners:
- Community Advocate: This person is an exceptional advocate and contributor, making significant and tangible change for the LGBTQIA+ community.
- Inclusion & Belonging Champion: This person has put in an outstanding effort to support under-represented LGBTQIA+ groups at work, has made a tangible difference in their lives and/or has increased visibility or representation at work.
- Regional Legend: This person is living and/or working in Regional, Rural or Remote Australia, and has made an outstanding contribution to the LGBTQIA+ community living in Regional, Rural and/or Remote Australia.
- Rising Star: This person is exceptionally successful in their career or industry.
- Standout Student : This person is a current or recent graduate (2020/2021), who has accomplished a significant academic achievement, or has helped increase visibility and/or improved the lives of LGBTQIA+ students.
Criteria
- To be considered eligible for an Out for Australia 30 under 30 Award, nominees must:
- Openly identify as LGBTQIA+.
- Be at least 18 years old when they are nominated, and under 30 years of age on the 6th October 2022.
- Not be a current Out for Australia volunteer (winners can be previous Out for Australia volunteers, but they must be recognized for work separate to their volunteering with Out for Australia).
- Not be a current employee/volunteer/student placement at BCG.
- Not have won an Out for Australia 30 under 30 Award in 2021 (provided they meet the other requirements, 2021 winners would next be eligible in 2023).
