The United Nations Population Fund in Brazil launches the third public notice “On the Trails of Cairo” in the Grant support modality with the objective of institutionally strengthening and influencing the work of civil society organizations that work in the areas of UNFPA’s mandate – either in the context of development or humanitarian action which are:
- sexual and reproductive health;
- population and development;
- communication for the defense of human rights;
- youth;
- gender;
- race and ethnicity;
- exchange of experiences with organizations from other developing countries; and
- environment for the defense of gender/race/youth.
Objectives
- Contribute to the ICPD agenda, recognizing the need to strengthen civil society organizations and train them as important actors for the implementation of the agenda.
- Contribute to the maintenance and sustainability of civil society organizations severely affected by the scenario of the COVID-19 pandemic, which impacted so much in their institutional structures, as in the lives of countless beneficiaries in the exercise of their human rights.
Eligibility Criteria
- Non-profit civil society organizations with experience of at least one year working in the areas of the UNFPA mandate.
- The following are not eligible to apply for this public notice: government institutions, organizations with organizations, individual projects and causes, political parties, universities and other educational institutions, religious institutions and organizations with an annual budget greater than 1 million reais.
- The civil society organization, movement, collective or network that:
- Have an active registration in the National Register of Legal Entities (CNPJ);
- Not on the UN Security Council sanctions list;
- Not being investigated for fraud, corruption, sexual abuse, exploitation sexual or other forms of misconduct;
- Not acting in partnership with receiving financial support for two (2) years with UNFPA, at the time of validity of the public notice (It is understood by partnership with receiving financial support with UNFPA, all types of projects financed directly or indirectly by UNFPA);
- Does not meet any of the unfitness criteria set out in the general paragraphs of the item 2 of this notice;
- Have proven ability to work in a network;
- Have good financial management conditions, with policies and procedures funds established to manage financial supports.
