-
Grants will be available for capital improvement works to public amenity projects. Examples may include:

- Village greens
- Community centres
- Public playgrounds
- Cycle paths

Funding Information
- The Augean Community Fund has approximately £500,000 available per year. The budget is funded by donations made by Augean under the Landfill Communities Fund from its two landfill sites located near Thornhaugh and Kings Cliffe.
- Normally the minimum grant is £5,000. The maximum you can apply for is £50,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Priority may be given to applications received for projects located within 5 miles of the two landfill sites.
- Groups with projects that are located within 10 miles of the King’s Cliffe landfill site or the Thornhaugh landfill site may apply for grants, subject to the Augean Community Fund’s eligibility requirements.
- Public Access Requirements:
- Projects must be available and open to the general public as defined by ENTRUST – as a minimum, for 4 evenings a week, or 2 days a week, or 104 days a year
Judging Criteria
-
The main criteria used when assessing applications received will be:
- The level of community support for and involvement in the project
- The local community benefit and enjoyment which will result from the project
-
Other factors that will also be considered when assessing the applications include:
- The ability of the applicant to deliver the project
- How the work will be continued after the project has been completed, i.e. its sustainability and legacy
- Value for money
- Match funding is not required but priority may be given to groups that can demonstrate efforts have been made to fund raise towards the project costs internally, or that grant applications to other funders have been attempted
- For projects that are for the conservation of the built heritage (e.g. buildings of architectural interest and/or places of religious worship) priority may be given to projects that have the widest community access and usage.
