The Tasmania Government has announced the applications for Cultural Heritage Organisations (Multi-Year) Program.
What can I apply for?
- You can apply for up to four years of funding towards activities like:
- Permanent, temporary or touring exhibitions,
- Education and public programs,
- The employment of professional museum or gallery staff,
- Marketing and administration costs.
- You can also apply for support to improve professional management of collections, including:
- Improving access to collections,
- The development of museums’ management policies,
- The care of collections,
- Product development.
- You cannot use grant funds to purchase equipment.
Activities
- This program offers multi-year support to Tasmanian cultural heritage organisations delivering a range of high-quality activities that:
- Strengthen Tasmania’s robust, diverse, and vibrant cultural heritage sector
- Engage and inspire audiences and the wider community
- And preserve Tasmania’s movable cultural heritage.
Eligibility Criteria
- As the applicant, your organisation must:
- Be a Tasmanian museum, gallery or collection
- Manage a publicly owned, publicly accessible, permanent collection of movable cultural heritage objects or artworks; and,
- Have (or are working towards) regular opening hours.
- Privately owned collections, federal government collections, Tasmanian Government Business Enterprises and Tasmanian Government Departments are not eligible to apply.
Criteria
- Arts Tasmania use three, equally weighted criteria to guide the assessment of applications These are:
- Quality
- Is the activity conceptually strong?
- Why is the proposed activity important?
- Are the key personnel experienced, or have the potential to develop and grow?
- Planning
- Is the project financially feasible?
- Is the timeline reasonable and achievable?
- What partnerships are in place to help drive the activity?
- Benefit
- How does the proposed project benefit the applicant, the artist, the collection or the community?
- What is the audience experience?
- Quality
