The Gympie Regional Council is seeking applications for its Community Grants Program to provide financial assistance to eligible community organizations to deliver projects that respond to community needs, support the council’s strategic objectives, and enhance the social and community development of the region.
Purposes
- Community Projects: To support community led projects that increase the social wellbeing of residents in the Gympie region.
- Community Facilities: To support safe, inclusive and accessible community facilities.
- Volunteer Support: To increase the capacity of community organisations and their volunteers to deliver services to their members and the broader community.
Priorities

Community Projects:
- Increase social inclusion and connection
- Embrace diversity
- Increase active and healthy lifestyles
- Activate community spaces and facilities
- Improve social outcomes for particular demographics (e.g. young people, seniors); or in relation to specific community issues (e.g. Reconciliation, mental health)

Community Projects:
- Improve the quality and sustainability of the facility
- Increase, maintain or enhance community participation and access
- Encourage multi-use or shared use of community facilities
- Address issues of risk management or compliance with Australian standards

Volunteer Support:
- Support volunteers to undertake their role in a safe and rewarding environment, with a focus on volunteer retention
- Increase volunteer learning and skills development
- Improve the management and operation of the volunteer-based organisations
- Improve community leadership skills
Funding Information
- Community Projects: Maximum grant amount $5,000
- Community Projects:Maximum grant amount $10,000
- Volunteer Support: Maximum grant amount $3,000
Eligibility Criteria
Council’s Community Grants Program is open to applications from community organisations that:
- Are an incorporated not-for-profit community organisation, or have an auspice arrangement with an incorporated not-for-profit community organisation (including not- for-profit cooperatives and companies limited by guarantee)
- Hold $20M public liability insurance and other forms of insurance relevant to the project (see Insurance Coverage for External Parties Policy)
- Have no outstanding debt with Council
- Are based in, or provide direct benefits to, the Gympie region.

In addition, eligible applicants to categories delivered as part of Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) include:
- Individuals over 18 years of age (applicants under 18 years of age must nominate an auspice organisation to administer the grant on their behalf)
- Businesses that provide creative or cultural services.
