Nominations are now open for the 2023 Australia Day Awards to celebrate and reconise achievements for upstanding citizens and local community organisations for their significant contributions to the community.
Award Categories

Awards are presented in the following categories:
- Citizen of the Year
- Senior Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
- Community Event of the Year
- The awards recognise those who have shown a willingness to lend a helping hand, concern for the environment or participated in sport, arts or cultural endeavours.
- They share the aspirations of all Australians in respect of tolerance, democracy, equity and equality of opportunity.
Criteria
- Citizen of the Year – Nominee must be over 25 years old and under 70 years old at the upcoming Australia Day
- Senior Citizen of the Year – Nominee must be 70 years old or over at the upcoming Australia Day
- Young Citizen of the Year – Nominee must be under 25 years old at the upcoming Australia Day
- Community Event of the Year – Nominated event must have been held in Cardinia
