Journalists in Tunisia interested in data journalism will have the opportunity to further develop their skills and receive funding to pursue reporting through this program from ICFJ, in partnership with the Media Development Centre and supported by the U.S. Embassy in Tunisia.
Media Development Center in partnership with the International Center for Journalist (ICFJ) with the support of the United States Embassy in Tunisia, it aims to train a group of journalists on data journalism skills as a specialized journalism in highlighting the growing role of digital and graphic data in light of the development of digital technology, in the field of producing news stories that include a simplified visual presentation of data.
Participants in the program will learn and sharpen their skills in data journalism, including fact-checking, data analysis and investigative reporting.

Data Journalism in Tunisia offers participating journalists working in both traditional and digital media:
- An online training series on investigative reporting and data journalism.
- In-person data journalism training.
- A “training of trainers” workshop for the local cohort of specialized data journalism trainers.
- Small grants for participants to pursue reporting on investigative journalism projects.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must be:
- A professional journalist And a worker In one of the Tunisian media institutions.
- The candidate must have a seniority in journalistic work of at least two years.
- The candidate should have the necessary equipment to follow the workshops remotely.
- The candidate should be prepared to participate in an in-person training workshop for three days during the month of December 2022.
