The Civil Society Facility South (CSFS, based in Tunis) has announced the call for applications for its Online Lab for Training of Trainers (TOTs) for Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) from the Southern Mediterranean region.
This Online Lab project is designed to strengthen the CSOs dialogue capacities in 10 countries. The new online TOT builds on the experience made during the previous programme 2016 / 2017.
The main objective is to support regional networks of TOTs that could develop trainings for CSOs in their countries and provide them relevant tools to advance on national and regional policy dialogue agendas. This “CSOs Policy Online Training Lab” is organised by the CSF South (technical assistance of the European Commission).

Selection Criteria, Eligibility and Procedures
All applicants must be a member of a Civil Society Organisation from the Neighbourhood South Region: “The EU considers CSOs to include all non-State, not-for-profit structures, non-partisan and non –violent, through which people organise to pursue shared objectives and ideas, whether political, cultural, social or economic. Operating from the local to the national, regional and international levels, they comprise urban and rural, formal and informal organisations. They include membership-based, cause-based and service-oriented CSOs. Among them, community-based organisations, non-governmental organisations, faith-based organisations, foundations, research institutions, Gender and LGBT organisations, cooperatives, professional and business associations, and the not-for-profit media. Trade unions and employers’ organisations, the so-called social partners, constitute a specific category of CSOs.”
Eligible Countries
CSOs applicants from these countries: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia and Syria are eligible to apply for participation.
Profile Requirements
The applicant should be:
- A representative of a Civil society organisation from one of the eligible countries (only ONE application per CSO is authorized): with involvement in actions of advocacy and policy dialogue.
- Aged between 25-40 years old.
- PC and IT literate for online learning and researching.
- Fluent in English or/and French in addition to Arabic for a smooth implementation of the courses.
Required Documents to Apply
- Written application from applicant’s CSO explaining and supporting the proposed candidacy.
- Motivation letter from the applicant in Arabic and translated in either English or French.
- Curriculum vita of the applicant with copy of passport or ID (with the date of birth).
Procedures
- The Online Training for CSOs TOTs approach will be organized through a competitive and well balanced gender selection process of around 3 applicants per country, between (25 and 40 years old), summing up to 30 participants.
- The assessment of applications will be carried out by a committee (CSFS in consultation with the EU), and publication of results will be made accordingly after the deadline.
Practical Information
- The face to face meetings/workshops will be delivered in Arabic and English.
- The online learning will be available in Arabic, English and as possible in French
- The costs related to the face to face participation in Tunisia (travel, accommodation and catering during events) will be fully covered for each selected participant by the CSF South TA.
- Participants will receive certificates issued by the CSFS by end of the Online Training Project.
