The European Commission has launched a call for applications under the Support Programme for Public Administrations and Institutions in the Framework of the EU–Algeria Partnership Implementation.
The project aims to strengthen the institutional capacity of the National Center for Commercial Register (CNRC) through the establishment of a management framework for the National Beneficial Ownership Register (NBOR) in line with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) recommendations. The focus of this initiative is the establishment of a management framework for the National Beneficial Ownership Register (NBOR) in compliance with FATF recommendations by the National Centre for Commercial Register (CNRC).
Implemented under the Support Programme for Public Administrations and Institutions in the Framework of the EU–Algeria Partnership Implementation (OPSYS: NDICI-GEO-NEAR/2023/ACT-61874), the project carries an overall budget of EUR 250,000. This funding is aimed at developing an efficient and transparent system for managing beneficial ownership data, strengthening administrative structures, and enhancing Algeria’s alignment with international transparency and anti-money laundering standards. The project duration is limited to eight months, providing a focused timeframe to design and operationalize the management framework while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Applications are open exclusively to Public Administrations and Mandated Bodies from European Union Member States, as defined in the Twinning Manual, and must be submitted through their respective National Contact Points. This initiative represents a significant step toward reinforcing governance, transparency, and institutional efficiency in Algeria, deepening cooperation under the EU–Algeria Partnership and supporting the country’s progress toward international compliance and accountability standards.
