Nominations are now open for the Agriculture Financial Services Corporation (AFSC’s) Women in Ag Award 2023.
The Women in Ag Award, now in its second year, acknowledges and honours the passion, dedication and commitment of women in agriculture and agribusiness in Alberta. It also celebrates the growing presence of women in this industry. This award showcases the women who are making a difference in agriculture in Alberta and helping preserve, nurture and transform this ever-changing sector.
Alberta is home to many of these amazing farming women, and we want to celebrate the energy and innovation those women have brought to the table. AFSC’s Women in Ag Award recognizes the passion, dedication, and commitment of Alberta women within agriculture and agribusiness in Alberta.
Benefits
- Up to six phenomenal individuals, who have made noteworthy contributions and worked towards the advancement of women in Alberta’s agriculture and food sector, will be awarded the Women in Ag Award.
- The recipients of the Women in Ag award will receive a unique AFSC-branded award and a full attendance package for Advancing Women in Agriculture Conference (AWC West), including hotel accommodation.
Eligibility Criteria
- These individuals, who are creating positive changes in the industry, must:
- Reside in Alberta
- Enrich agriculture and their agriculture communities
- Inspire others
- Use their skills and leadership to make the Alberta ag industry stronger
- Applications will be evaluated and recipients chosen by a selection committee made up of two AFSC representatives/employees and three representatives from AFSC’s corporate partners. Award recipients will be announced on March 8, 2023 – International Women’s Day – through AFSC’s website and social media. Recipients will be recognized during the AWC West 2023 Conference March 12 to 14 in Calgary.
