Deadline: 23-Oct-2025
The World Food Programme (WFP) has announced a call for proposals in Burkina Faso’s Nord region aimed at strengthening food security and improving the targeting of vulnerable households for inclusion in the Single Social Registry (SSR).
The initiative seeks to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of identifying households most in need of social and humanitarian assistance, ensuring that future support reaches the poorest and most food-insecure populations.
This intervention will involve comprehensive data collection and analysis, focusing on food security and market vulnerability mapping. By developing a detailed understanding of household vulnerabilities, WFP and its partners aim to support evidence-based planning and equitable distribution of resources. The project also promotes collaboration among local authorities, community leaders, and targeting agents to ensure transparency and inclusiveness throughout the process.
Under this initiative, community targeting agents will be recruited and trained to carry out pre-identification and door-to-door data collection activities. Their capacities will be strengthened through specialized training sessions, enabling them to conduct high-quality assessments and ensure data accuracy. Local targeting committees will be established to oversee the process, while municipal meetings will bring together the Prefect, the Village Development Committee (CVD), and community targeting teams to coordinate activities and validate the approach.
The project will include several key steps: organizing pre-identification meetings, reconciling initial data, conducting household surveys, and processing and verifying collected information. The final output will be a reconciled and validated database of poor and vulnerable households, which will be made available to the Technical Secretariat for the Single Social Registry (ST/RSU). This database will serve as a vital tool for future social protection programs and emergency response planning in Burkina Faso’s Nord region.
Through this initiative, WFP aims to strengthen local systems for vulnerability analysis and promote data-driven decision-making, ultimately contributing to improved food security and resilience for the most at-risk communities in the country.
