Deadline: 31-Aug-2025
The World Food Programme (WFP) has opened a call for proposals for its General Food Assistance program in Cox’s Bazar, aimed at improving nutrition and food security for the Rohingya population. The initiative is part of WFP’s broader strategic outcome and focuses on four main objectives to support refugees in meeting their essential food needs.
Under this program, all Rohingya refugees will receive a monthly value voucher to ensure they meet minimum dietary requirements. Refugees will have the freedom to choose preferred food items. The program also guarantees food access during emergencies and provides the community with fresh vegetables, poultry, and fish.
The program spans various sectors, including camp coordination, food security, and partnership management. It covers work in agricultural inputs, cash and food assistance, and food security analysis, including market and vulnerability mapping. The focus remains on the Chittagong region of Bangladesh, where Cox’s Bazar is located.
WFP’s strategic outcomes include enabling crisis-affected populations in Bangladesh to meet essential needs, ensuring nutrition support for women and children through strengthened national systems, building resilience to disasters with flexible and inclusive safety net programs, and improving coordination and services during emergencies.
Eligible applicants must be NGOs or INGOs registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau and authorized to work in the camps in Cox’s Bazar. They should have proven experience in food security management, cash interventions, market linkage, and value chains. Applicants must also show a credible specialization mandate, sufficient staffing, technical expertise, and operational presence in the targeted area.
