Deadline: 06-Aug-2025
The Open Data Framework Program aims to create a neutral and secure data repository and cooperative where producers, universities, and nonprofit organizations can store and share data. This effort is designed to foster agricultural innovation, support technological advancement, improve production efficiency, and encourage environmental stewardship.
The program requires a comprehensive sustainability plan that includes strategies for updates, user support, and expansion beyond the initial funding period. Proposals must outline how the framework will integrate with existing and future tools, cyberinfrastructure, and programs to ensure effective data use. They should also include solutions for data transfer speed and co-location needs.
Projects must follow FAIR data principles, ensuring data is Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable. Proposals are expected to focus on building the framework from initial use cases to full platform growth and expansion.
The total funding available for this program is $958,410. Only one award will be given, with both the award floor and ceiling set at $958,410.
Eligible applicants include organizations and individuals. Applications may come from state agricultural experiment stations, colleges and universities, university research foundations, research institutions, federal agencies, national laboratories, private companies, foundations, corporations, or any group made up of two or more of these entities.
